TOURIST PLACES IN LONDON, ENGLAND

Hire the venue





St Ethelburga's is a superb venue for receptions, small-scale conferences, lectures, book launches, awaydays and parties.  Hiring the venue directly helps the charity.
It is a highly atmospheric, Grade I listed building, with a beautiful private Tent and secret garden.  It is equipped with AV facilities and offers a range of delicious catering options.

1.market Borough: From about the thirteenth century the Borough Market is the place for a delicious breakfast or lunch. It is one of the main attractions south of the river. To open Thursday to Saturday (the last day is the most appropriate since the market is visited by more people).







2. Mediatheque British Film Institute: It is hidden under the Waterloo Bridge. It has four cinemas (not free) and fun Media library where you can find movies and DTV files and view them for free.

3 british  museum: One of the main attractions of London and now is free. In it you will see the Rosetta stone Aztec seven million masks and other items. It's a must for anyone who is walking in London visit. There are free tours Eyeopener lasting 20-50 minutes.

4.home Parliament: The Palace of Westminster, home of "Big Ben" (or the Clock Tower) is a marvel of Gothic style of the mid-nineteenth century. Here are the House of Commons and House of Lords. You can go to www.parliament.uk and inform you about the schedule of sessions of Parliament to attend one of them.

5. London  museum: Although this museum is off the radar of most visitors to the city, is one of the great attractions of it. This museum offers a walk through the various "incarnations" of London - from the geological history of the Thames Valley, the Anglo-Saxons and the bankers of the century. There is also a nice cafe in a lovely garden

6  national gallery: It has 2,000 classic Western Europe Van Gogh, Renoir, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo among others. It is a must for art lovers.

7.  Maritime museum  national : The best attraction of Greenwich; This neoclassical building becomes more interesting and fun as it runs. The same attention is focused on the marine past of Great Britain, including the bullet knocked Horatio Nelson, a replica ship Ernest Shackleton and a lot of nice interactive exhibits for children.

8.  Portrait gallery national: Before the existence of Google or Wikipedia, the English came here to put a face to the name from the list of who's who in history. It is located one block north of the National Gallery and you can find here paintings and sculptures, such as that made Andy Warhol Queen.

9. National History museum: It is the result of a collection of natural things in a beautiful neo-Gothic building of 1880. Is there a dinosaur skeleton guarding the entrance. Further inland there is a T-Rex and the Darwin Centre with 450,000 bottles specimens. A garden on wildlife is open from April until September.

10. Photographers gallery: It is a wonderful collection of contemporary photographs in the West End and its new space on two floors (where the gallery has been since 2008). There is also a great coffee.



11.Museum of Sciences: It has 7 levels with interactive exhibits. The Hall of Energy highlights the first steam locomotives from the early nineteenth century; for children are special exhibitions on the third floor, including hot air balloons and flight simulators.

12. Serpentine  gallery: This gallery is a lovely place to enjoy one of the most important collections of contemporary art in London, Demien works by Hirst, Jeff Koons, etc. It looks like a tea room style 1930 in leafy Kensington Gardens. Every year in the summer pavilion (May to October) readings are made and there are open-air cinema.

13.Museum of Sir John Soane: The son of a bricklayer, Soane's house is full of personal architect of the early nineteenth century and other curiosities, which constitute one of the most atmospheric places and fascinating London that few know that exists. The house is largely as Soane left to his death in 1837. Try to visit on the first Tuesday of each month, when the house is lit with candles.

14.church St. Paul: Not to be confused with St. Paul's Cathedral (a major attraction in which you have to pay). This church is in the western part of Covent Garden Piazza and is known as the "church of the actor." There are monuments to Charlie Chaplin and Vivien Leigh.

15.Tate Britain: Permanent works that we focus on works of British art from the sixteenth century to the late twentieth century. You can make thematic tours of an hour and 15 minutes listening to lectures about painters and paintings.



16 tate modern: Special exhibitions cost £ 8.10 but are gratuitasy permanent exhibits are made up of a collection of 60,000 works (Rodin, Matisse, Pollock, Warhol). There are also unique themed exhibitions as "Poetry and Dream" of the surreal. The cafe upstairs has beautiful views of the Thames and the building is amazing.

17.church the Temple: The Da Vinci Code fans considered this church as a must in London because it was part of a key scene. Its origins date back to the twelfth century.

18. Victoria & Albert museum: Open since 1852, its 4.5 million objects make it one of the world's best museum of decorative arts. The first floor focuses on Asia (ancient Chinese ceramics, Japanese swords, etc.) and some European art including plaster molds used for Michelangelo David. Then there is a collection of photographs of half a million images collected over its 160 years.

19.Collection Wallace: The collection is a fascinating look at the life of eighteenth century aristocratic look and is in a sumptuous Italianate mansion restored. It is composed of works of fine arts.
